Avon is the world’s No.1 corporate fundraiser for the breast cancer cause.

Launched in Australia in 1996, the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade is active across 50 Avon countries, all working together both globally and locally to raise funds for, and increase awareness of, breast cancer.

Thanks to the efforts of our supportive Customers and Representatives, we are proud to say that Australia and New Zealand have collectively raised over $12.5 million from the sale of Breast Cancer Crusade products. In 2014, we made breast cancer history with our biggest-ever single donation of $1 million to the cause, presented live on The Today Show to the Australia and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group.

Campaigning for a Better Future

About Avon's 2014 Million Reasons campaign

In October 2014, Avon launched the Million Reasons campaign to help raise awareness about Avon's Breast Cancer Crusade. We challenged our Representatives to help us achieve our goal of donating our single largest ever donation to the breast cancer cause ($1 million in Australia and $250,000 in New Zealand).

The Million Reasons campaign included video and social media to encourage people to share their reasons for supporting the breast cancer cause. Our Million Reasons video features eight Avon Associates who have all had breast cancer touch their lives. They also shared their stories and what it means to work for Avon in a behind-the-scenes video. You can watch both videos below.

The Breast Cancer Crusade bauble competition

The 2012 Avon Breast Cancer Crusade bauble contest aimed to increase breast cancer awareness. Entrants were asked to submit a photo of themselves with the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade bauble, either in person at one of our pop-up sites across Australia and New Zealand, or with a virtual bauble online.

The lavish prize on offer included return flights for two to New York, five nights’ accommodation, $3,000 spending money and the opportunity to take part in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Noelene McRae from Victoria won the competition with her beautiful photo, which captured the spirit and resilience of an Avon woman fighting breast cancer and stood out among over 1,000 entries.

In October 2013, Noelene and her daughter Lisa embarked on their trip to New York City to attend the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. The two-day event took Noelene and Lisa on an extraordinary 39-mile (62.76-km) journey through NYC. Travelling with thousands of others, the pair walked around Manhattan Island, the Upper West and East Sides, Greenwich Village, SoHo and Chinatown, and took in the stunning views of Manhattan as they crossed the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is a series of 39-mile (62.76 km) weekend fundraising events launched by the Avon Foundation in 2003. Taking place in eight cities across the United States, the Walk events help women and men living with breast cancer by raising awareness and funds for the research and treatment of this disease.
